Excellent review! I currently have a T3i and Tamron 70-300mm lens and Tamron 150-600mm lens for wildlife, sometimes low light. Would the 5D Mark iii be a good next move or is there something even better/cheaper with my lenses. Am considering a Teleconverter for the setup as well. Any suggestions?

Something cheap for noobies?

Up until now (2023) i only used APSC cameras and want to go full frame, i shoot only manual lenses with my A6000, i have a Nex 5T as a "point and shoot" and a A3500 for use with heavier lenses. My question is about which cheap first generation A7 is better to buy, A7, A7S, A7R. As far as i know, the A7S solved the loose mount issue and the lack of silent shutter of the other two, the plain A7 is far cheaper, and the A7R gives better image quality. Which do you think is a better buy?

Another important point is it’s minimum focusing distance of 0.7m, focuses closer than the 90-APO and has higher magnification than the Summilux-50

What’s your opinion on Nikkor 200mm f4?

I have seen so many buyers complain about the twist lock on some knock off brands. So I decided to review higher end pods, as in your video with the flip lock. I suppose even these 10 you reviewed have the plastic insert to lock in the twisting mechanism. Again thank you for the information.

I got this camera yesterday, and I was pressing the zoom button on the top right of the camera, and in the live view it was zooming in, but when I snapped the picture, the picture came out unzoomed, is there a way to make it so it will stay zoomed when I press the button?

I just did sth else thought it might be of benefit. I rest my camera (default settings) and then put the sd card in and format it and it worked not I do not get the "memory card is locked" message

I'm confused. I've used Bay ROES many times over the past couple of years, and I always first size my images in Lightroom to the output dimensions I want, then upload them in Bay ROES. That always involves subjective cropping. If I don't do the sizing and cropping to my desired dimensions (usually 11x17), how does Bay Photo know what crop I want? That is so subjective. Bay ROES includes a wide range of resizing templates to be used prior to submission for printing. So why in the instructions do they advise not resizing from the image's original dimensions?

A lot of these cameras are no longer under $500. Prices have gone up!

It’s nit picky but you said the crop has a tighter angle of view. Isn’t the angle of view the same but the field of view is different because the crop only captures the center as the outsides are cropped off. I have been trying to really understand these terms so I’d like your take.

Nice review . I get why the Fuji x100v always comes out near the top due to the sensor and film simulations etc but with a fixed lens I can't see how it can be as versatile as say the canon with a zoom lens with 1.8 built in ND filter etc.

Why does the Epson P400 has orange and red: omit the orange (can be mixed by red and yellow) and replace it by grey, so the tonal gradients in B&W prints is much better. You will get the same ink configuration as the XP-15000 (cyan, magenta, yellow, photo black, grey and red) but in pigment version: extra matte black improves blackness on matte papers and the gloss optimizer gives an even glossiness on shiny photo papers.

The problem is that some of these new smartphones like the Google pixel 6 Pro I own take photographs. At least as good if not better then lot of cameras.
